Globe Trotting: NYC Pt I

Red eye flight out of LAX, about to land at JFK (excuse the scratched window)
First cab ride in NYC (that I remember)
Ecstatic-ness calls for a selfie
Casually posing on the Highline (recommend walking this, i's so breathtaking)
Hustle and bustle of rush hour
Another view from the Highline (near 8th Street)
cheesy posing, all bundled up
street art, what more can you ask for
99 cent pizza I will never forget
finally trying the infamous shake shack
Empire State of Mind.  Perfect way to end my first day in the city that never sleeps.

More to come in part II of my trip through my smartphone

Headed to New York next week to look at schools! I am stoked and pretty nervous, It's going to be freezing but at least I'll be able to give my winter coats some love since its in mid 60s and 70s in LA right now. I'm using airbnb to book my trip and I have to say it's going to be my new go to for travel, it is super convenient and allows a tourist to experience life as a local (and not to mention cheaper). I have just 2 more days of my winter intercession classes and then a heavy loaded spring semester. Anyways before I go do you have any suggestions on where to visit? I already bought tickets for Phantom Of the Opera and this weekend I'm seeing Book of Mormon. If anything a dinner and live show will make my night.

On Repeat

I just got tickets to Carla Bruni's show at Cal State LA for April 26th! So excited to see her perform. I've been a huge fan of her for about 5 years now and she is finally doing a US tour. Anyways Check out her music, it's great relaxing tunes and always uplifting. One of my favorite songs is Those Dancing Days are Gone which is actually taken from a poem Those Dancing Days Are Gone by William Butler Yeats.

Another great song and great soundtrack is from the film Her by Spike Jonze, who also directed Where the Wild Things Are. The score is done by Arcade Fire another well recognized and great band. Check out the film which is in theaters now. I personally found this film to be really memorable and beautiful. The cinematography was on point and so hauntingly beautiful and I loved the consistency of the warm reds and orange throughout the film.

The Playlist Volume #1

It's been some time since I've written or posted anything on my blog, and I realize that I haven't had much of an outlet to let my creativity/emotions flow. I've been caught up with school and a new relationship that a lot of my focus from myself and my future has been on the sideline nor have I been inclined to work on my blog. But it's no excuse, so anyways I thought it would be cool to display some of my work from class that I have worked on, I'll try to post some student work projects in the future. This was a recent project I created with my classmate. Being able to create pretty layouts and discovering cool topics to cover really highlights my love for print media and fashion. So I hope you enjoy this short magazine and learn some new things.

Union Station~LA

thrifted blouse.thrifted pencil skirt.zara tote.nordstroms franco sarto wedges. ebay necklace.
By now you guys probably know that silk is one of my favorite textiles to wear, though it's a terrible pain in the ass to take care of, the feel and look of the fabric always leads me back. I wore this silk oversized blouse with my favorite silk chevron blush pencil skirt the other day. The subtle broken  print is so interesting and delicate witch perfectly juxtaposes the harsh nature of a chevron pattern. Anyways hope you all are hanging in there, thought it's still the beginning of the week. I've been working on an exciting potential trip overseas! More details to come!
